Other Banners and Insignia

The Council of the Races

The Defender’s Banner was adopted by the Council of the Races and their mage-allies in 75 AK, shortly after the Defender’s discovery of Traveling. It replaced the banner of the Sevenfold Alliance used since 934 DH, but the original extended length was retained.

Image of a long, dark grey flag with stylized golden fire surrounding a silver seabird (a fulmar). The flagpole is rough wood, topped by a pewter final engraved with a seven-rayed star.
Banner for the Defender and the Council

The seal of the Council of the Races actually predates Hu-Harek. It was originally inlaid as a mosaic in the floor at Bannerhall, lost when the Council relocated in 923 DH. A similar emblem appears in the Overmage’s quarters at the Council’s mage school. Traditional usage rotated the seal’s image based upon the race of the user. As shown below, the human figure was situated upright when the user or bearer of the seal was a human.

An image of a bone-colored, disc-shaped pendant, engraved with three figures hand in hand (as if lying on the ground with their heads together), one hyarmi, one human, and one avarii.

Hu-Harek

Acolytes or confederates chosen to represent Hu-Harek were given a disk of color-changing chrysoberyl (green outdoors and ruby under firelight). It was engraved with an oak tree and also bore a microscopic message only readable by hyarmi seers or avarii shapechangers.

Two images of a translucent disk engraved with an oak tree inside a hexagon. The top image shows the disk a green color as it lies outdoors on a rock; the bottom image shows the disk wine-red under candlelight indoors.
